My favorite Austin band

I caught Leatherbag for the first time earlier this year not knowing anything about them, and wow, was I surprised. Became my favorite Austin band instantly.

A good time
Jun 6th, 2008 by Indie Rocks
Hole in the Wall is another of those "Austin institutions", and a place you must go to if you still haven't been. They book many of the great local bands playing an assortment of Americana, Rock and Country music, so even if you don't know who is playing beforehand, if you show up, you'll probably be pleasantly surprised.

Beers and more

Beers and drinks are cheap, with pool and games in the back. The somewhat dingy, worn look of the place also adds to the appeal.. making it fell like your enjoying the same type of music that made Austin famous over the past 30 years.

Downsides are, with it's location on the main drag of UT is that parking can be a little tricky (save gas, and take the bus), and the place can get pretty crowded but you can usually grab a seat as the crowd comes and goes through the night.
